What is an eSIM?
eSIM, also known as embedded SIM, is a cutting-edge tech that does away with physical SIM cards. It allows you to utilize your network service directly on compatible devices without the need of a physical sim card, offering perks like speedy activation, simple setup, and a greener footprint compared to old-school plastic SIMs.
Do I need special phone to use an eSIM?

Are these eSIMs data only?
Most of the eSIMs on the market are data only, due to regulatory requirements.
There however are some available which include calls and texts, it’s just not as common, regardless – all of your favorite apps such as WhatsApp, Telegram, Facebook and Instagram work just fine with data only!
What happens if I accidently delete my eSIM profile?

What should I do if my eSIM is stuck on activating?
Occasionally, you might find that an eSIM is lingering in the activation phase. This typically occurs if you’ve set up an eSIM but haven’t yet entered the country or region it’s designated for.
Feel assured that your eSIM is correctly installed, regardless of whether it shows “activating” or “activation failure.” The activation will complete once you arrive at your intended location and are in the area covered by the network.
Keep in mind that while the eSIM is stuck on “activating,” you can still access other features of your device that don’t depend on network connectivity.
As soon as you arrive at your destination and your device connects to the local network coverage, the eSIM should successfully activate, allowing you to begin using it.
When will my eSIM expire?
Your data plan starts as soon as you activate it on your phone. We recommend that you scan and activate your eSIM right before you travel so you will be connected when you land.Â
When you activate your SIM, the number of days in the plan will start to count down. If you are not in the country or region that the eSIM works in, you will not be able to access the data and you will not lose any of the data in the plan.Â
Buying the eSIM does not start the plan. You can wait as long as you would like until you scan the QR code.Â

Can I share my eSIM with someone else?
Sorry, no sharing this time. Each eSIM is linked to a specific device, so it’s your own private connection. But hey, there’s a plan for everyone!
Do I need to visit a store to set up my eSIM?
Not at all! Say goodbye to those long store queues. With EscapeSIM, you can set up your eSIM from the comfort of your couch, or Airport. No need to leave the house – unless you’re out of snacks.
How many eSIMs can I have on my device?
Most devices will allow you to have multiple eSIMs installed but you will only be able to activate one at a time. iPhone models starting from the iPhone 13 allow you to use 2 eSIMs at the same time.

I've activated my eSIM but there's no service?
As long as you’re in one of the supported countries and you’re in a metro city, your eSIM may take a little bit of time (anywhere between 1-10 minutes) to actually connect to the provider.

I purchased the Indonesia 15 GB or 20 GB plan and have no data?
The “3” mobile network in Indonesia is a little different to other countries, since they partnered with INDOSAT, the eSIM automatically connects to that network, but it’s the incorrect network! while this is being fixed, please follow the below instructions to get up and running.
iPhone
Settings > Mobile Data / Cellular > Select your newly installed eSIM > Ensure that “Turn On This Line” is ON > Tap “Network Selection” > Disable “Automatic” > Once your phone returns all of the networks, select the 3 network.
Android
Settings > Connections > Mobile networks > Network operators > Select the eSIM > Disable “Select automatically” > Once your phone returns all of the networks, select the 3 network.
*Note, if the 3 network doesn’t appear, please try again when in a more urban/city location.
